Sustainability, future planning and regenerative agriculture are top of the agenda at the Dairy Show next month. Panel discussions and forums will give show-goers plenty of opportunity to learn from industry experts.

“Education is a key theme of our work and we are pleased that the AgriForum and LandAlive are making a welcome return to this year’s Dairy Show,” says Carol Paris, chief executive at the Royal Bath & West of England Society. “Providing an opportunity to discuss the sector’s challenges and opportunities really is invaluable and we hope that as many attendees as possible take the opportunity to listen to the experts, share knowledge and learn from one another.”

This year’s AgriForum, sponsored by Clarke Willmott, will include panel discussions including: ‘From slurry to income: Is an anaerobic digester right for your farm?’; ‘The impact of inheritance tax changes on the future of farming’; and ‘Pressure points in dairy businesses: Contracts, cashflow and conflict’.

Leading the sessions will be Clarke Willmott’s agriculture team including partner Esther Woolford; Philip Whitcomb, partner in private wealth management; dairy contracts expert Amy Peacey; and disputes expert Laura Mackain-Bremner.

“The Forum topics are particularly timely,” explains Ms Woolford. “With increasing interest in diversification and renewable energy projects, alongside continuing uncertainty around agricultural policy and taxation, the sessions will give farmers practical insights to help inform future business decisions.

“They offer a valuable opportunity for farmers to hear from industry experts, ask questions and gain insight into topics that are likely to have a significant impact on their businesses in the years ahead.”

In addition, visitors can also purchase a ticket to the UK’s regenerative dairy gathering; LandAlive, which will take place in the show theatre. Delegates will hear from a packed speaker agenda including Baroness Minette Batters, dairy farmers Sophie Gregory and James Robinson, Lee Truelove; director of regenerative farming and agriculture at First Milk, and Ffinlo Costain; chief editor at 8point9.

Offering a full programme of practical discussion, farmer-led insight and industry debate, LandAlive will provide delegates with the opportunity to share practical ideas, proven approaches and real-world solutions for the future of dairy.
