ICL, a global leader in speciality plant nutrition, has acquired GreenBest, a UK-based manufacturer specialising in bespoke fertilisers for the horticulture, sports turf, and landscape sectors.

This marks ICL’s third acquisition in 2024, underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, customised solutions and strengthening its leadership across core markets.

Earlier this year, ICL acquired Nitro 1000, a Brazilian developer and provider of biostimulants – expanding its biologicals portfolio – and CAF, a North American provider of bespoke agricultural formulations like liquid adjuvants and enhanced nutrients. These acquisitions align with ICL’s strategy to broaden its product offering and position the business for continued growth in new and adjacent markets.

“With over 25 years of expertise in custom manufacturing of advanced granular and liquid nutrition, GreenBest has built a strong reputation for agility and customer-focused solutions,” says Elad Aharonson, President of ICL Growing Solutions. “Its established presence in the horticulture, landscape and turf sectors, combined with a strong distribution network, enhances our ability to deliver sustainable, tailor-made solutions to customers worldwide.”

Joining ICL’s global platform will allow GreenBest to expand its market reach while continuing to prioritise its customer-first approach, he adds. “The synergy between GreenBest’s specialised expertise and ICL’s global resources is set to deliver a strong value proposition to customers.”

Tim Le Mesurier, Founder and Managing Director of GreenBest, says: “The GreenBest team is thrilled to join the ICL family. It will enable us to combine our strengths, expand our innovation capabilities, and provide even greater value to our customers worldwide.”

The Somerset-based firm is renowned for its flexible production capabilities, producing any quantity of bespoke fertiliser for customers across the UK and further afield. Its agile customer service and responsiveness will complement ICL’s strengths in innovation and research and development, says Mr Aharonson.

“Its established market channels and production capacity will support future growth, while ICL brings extra investment and supply chain efficiencies. Our cutting-edge fertiliser technologies will enrich GreenBest’s existing product lineup, offering improved innovation, streamlined operations and world class customer service.”
