An increased client base and a desire to create opportunities for new talent have led to agricultural communications firm, Agri-hub, taking on four new appointments.

“It’s wonderful to have expanded our team,” explains founder, Olivia Cooper. “It has already allowed us to take on more work and spend more strategic time with our clients – especially with the experience and expertise we’ve now acquired.

“I’ve also always wanted to make sure that we foster new talent in our sector. It has an all-round benefit; fresh perspective, enthusiasm and skills for our business – and a fantastic career for new entrants to pursue.”

Bringing over 15 years of journalistic experience to the team, Danusia Osiowy joined Agri-hub in June 2024. Her repertoire includes a solid standing in commercial campaigns and event organisation at Farmers Guardian, co-launching both the British Farming Awards and #Farm24. She has also spearheaded several charity fundraising initiatives, and led educational and career campaigns, including the award-winning Tractor Factor.

Based near Preston, Danusia is well-placed to cover activities in the North of England, as well as the client base across the UK and Europe. “Throughout my career I have met, and continue to meet, incredible farmers, families and fellow industry professionals,” she says. “Joining the Agri-hub team and being able to help them grow clients’ businesses through the power of editorial content and PR strategies is something I feel very passionate about.”

More recently, Amanda Cornforth-Smith strengthened the northern contingent. Working from her family’s mixed farm in North Yorkshire, she joins the team on a part-time basis, and brings with her a well-established background in PR and journalism, as well as valuable experience and skills gained as an agri-environmental schemes adviser. “I’m really excited to become part of the Agri-Hub team,” says Amanda. “The work is varied and so interesting, with lots of opportunities to cover intriguing stories for the farming press, as well as working alongside a range of clients.

“The team is fantastic to work with; they have made me feel so welcome. I hope I can bring some of my experience to the team and develop new skills and knowledge.”

Finally, the team is pleased to welcome Lydia Wombwell and Flossie Bebb – new graduates from the Royal Agricultural University and Edinburgh University, respectively.

Joining the team in October 2024, Lydia is a welcome addition to the Exeter office. Forging her new career – after travelling and working in New Zealand and Australia – she is a broad thinker with an extraordinary zest for British agriculture. She credits her participation on the BGAJ John Deere Journalism Training Course as invaluable in cementing her journalistic ambitions.

Hailing from Essex, she has a keen interest in arable farming and remains active within her home county’s Young Farmers organisation – albeit, from afar. “I am excited to see where my new role will take me; it marks the beginning of my career in agricultural journalism and I’m so lucky to be learning from such an experienced team,” she says. “I can’t wait to fully immerse myself in farming, learning more from both farm visits and conferences, and to share this knowledge in the industry.”

Flossie will be welcomed to the Exeter office in early January 2025 – bringing in some post-Christmas zest. Growing up on a mixed farm in mid Wales, she also feels strongly about how farming knowledge and stories are passed down through generations in agriculture. She is determined to help the agricultural industry feel heard and understood. “I’m excited to communicate agricultural matters in a creative and engaging way, while expanding my knowledge of the industry,” she says.

“It will be interesting to learn how the unique experiences of different farming families shape their lives and work. Plus, spending time out on farms and in an office of lovely people (and dogs) is just perfect.”
