Brighter days are around the corner, and so is the return of the Royal Bath & West Show,
with three days of fun-filled events and activities for all the family.
Set to take place at the Bath & West Showground near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, from 29
May to 31 May 2025, the show promises to be a highlight of the season. “Celebrating
agriculture with visitors from all walks of life is what the show is all about,” says head of
shows, Jess Chiplen.
The main ring will come alive with a packed programme including top class show jumping,
scurry racing, and pony club games. And Paul Hannam’s Quad Bike Stunt Show will be
joined by stunt rider Shaun Saturley, to wow the audience with jumps made from just about
anything they can get their hands on.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse range of British, Continental, and rare breeds attending
the show – all vying for a spot in the main ring’s Grand Parade.
For the food lovers, the Great British Kitchen is hosting live demonstrations, with not only
return visits from celebrity chefs, Andy Clarke and Lisa Cadd, but this year joined by George
Egg – snack hacker, cook and comedian showcasing delicious dishes. And there will be
plenty of foodie treats available in the new Regional Food & Drink Pavillion, so visitors can
take home a taste of the South West. “The South West is bursting with quality produce, so
we want to show it off,” says Ms Chiplen. “Suppliers like Barbers, Wyke, Thatchers and so
many more are going to be at the show, so make sure your appetites are ready.”
The Lakeside Farm offers the chance for families to meet the animals and learn about the
field-to-fork process. From wool workshops and taste tests to interacting with farm animals,
engineering and butchery demonstrations – there are opportunities for everyone to interact
and learn. “Educating visitors on British food systems and how they can positively interact
with nature is a priority,” says Ms Chiplen.
And don’t forget to bring your pooch – Bark & West is back! Enjoy dog-focused stalls, agility
shows, and a wide range of unique dog breeds.
Step into the vibrant horticulture area, where nature and creativity intertwine in a stunning
display of floral artistry. Entries are now open for the floral art competition, showcasing the
talent and passion of local artists.
“Visitors can also look forward to the usual selection of show gardens, featuring early
summer blooms, a wide range of stalls, celebrity guests, and crafts galore,” she adds. “Live
music will be on all day, so you can kick back and relax on the Main Lawn or boogie into the
evening in the Pilton Tent – be sure to book your camping spot on-site too.”

And explore the world of vintage vehicles, where history and craftsmanship come together.
Enthusiasts and newcomers alike will be captivated by the stories behind these timeless
machines.
Entries are now open for the popular bees and honey classes – a chance for budding
beekeepers to show off their skills and delicious honey products. Always popular with
spectators, the best farriers will be battling it out in a range of shoeing classes, which are
now open for entries. “Head over to the forge, to see the art of blacksmithing, with classes
for shoemaking, pony, cob and hunter shoeing as well as for apprentices,” says Ms Chiplen.
Entries and tickets are available online, with advance discounted tickets on sale until 28
May. Visitors can also book a day membership to enjoy members’ facilities. To secure your
place, visit www.bathandwest.com/tickets.
